Penguins blow 4-0, come back to beat Oilers 6-4

by Harrison Hamm on 03-13-2015 at 05:24 PM
It was a rocky road, but the Penguins would pull off a victory. After the Penguins scored three in the first period and another one a minute into the second, Edmonton, helped by the replacement of goaltender Ben Scrivens with Richard Bachman, roared back in the third period with four straight to knot the game up. The Pens would score twice in 66 seconds to take a 6-4 lead, which they would keep for the rest of the game.

Why the Penguins should keep Brandon Sutter

by Harrison Hamm on 03-01-2015 at 04:41 PM
Since acquiring third line center Brandon Sutter from the Hurricanes in 2012, Sutter has added multiple things to the Penguins. He is currently on the trade block, but there are multiple reasons why he should be kept on the Penguins. Comeau, Greiss lead the Penguins past St. Louis

by Harrison Hamm on 02-22-2015 at 01:00 PM
The Penguins got a huge win Saturday night against the St. Louis Blues, one of the best teams in the National Hockey League. Pittsburgh won 4-2 on two goals from forward Blake Comeau, who, along with all other Pens forwards, was playing with a different line. Comeau played with Evgeni Malkin and Chris Kunitz on the second line, and they were clearly the most productive line on the ice for the Penguins. They had great control of the puck throughout the game, and did an excellent job keeping the puck

Should the Penguins look at a new backup goalie?

by Harrison Hamm on 02-20-2015 at 07:11 PM
For the Penguins, backup goalie has never been a position that has been filled consistently. From Steve Garon to Thomas Vokoun to Jeff Zatkoff, nobody seems to hold the position for more than a year. Backing-up Marc-Andre Fleury this season is none other then Thomas Greiss. The German has played in 13 games this season, with six wins. He has a disappointing .906 save percentage, and a 2.88 goals against average. Unless he improves, I see no reason why the Penguins should keep him.
