The St. Louis Blues will avoid salary arbitration with Jaden Schwartz as the team has signed him to a five-year deal worth $26.75 million.

Schwartz’ arbitration hearing was set for July 20th.

The 24-year-old posted eight goals and added 14 assists in 33 games last season.

The Wilcox, Saskatchewan native debut with the Blues during the 2011-12 season after being selected 14th overall in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
